Food stamps

To pass a farm bill that provides subsidies to big agriculture, Republicans eliminated any funding for food stamps. Food stamp programs have been included in the farm bill for nearly the past 50 years... Read some of the comments here:  It's incredibly simple economics. You'd think republicans, being simpletons who talk about how genius they are at economics, would be all over it, but yeah:
Poor people have no means. They cannot buy things. Being unable to buy things means less economic activity. Less economic activity means less jobs. Less jobs means more poor people.
Conversely if you give poor people means, they can buy things. Buying things means economic activity, which means more jobs, which means less poor people. Simple.
Indeed.
